2. Was anyone there to witness of appreciate it?

3. What is the best idea you've ever had?

4. What made it great in your mind?

5. What is your creative ambition?

6. What are the obstacles to this ambition?

7. How do you begin your day?

8. What patterns do you repeat?

9. Describe your first successful creative act.

10. What are your attitudes toward: Money? Power? Praise? Rivals? Work? Play?

11. Which artists do you admire most?

12. Who regularly inspires you?

13. When confronted with superior intelligence or talent, how do you respond?

14. When you work, do you love the process or the result?

15. At what moments do you feel your reach exceeds your grasp?

16. What is your ideal creative activity?

17. What is your greatest fear?

18. What is the likelihood of either happening?

19. What is your greatest dream?

do you have any more to add?

How much more cretivity can we be today?

let your life be a poem.

When I say be creative, I don’t mean you should all go and become great painters and great poets.

I simply mean let your life be a painting, let your life be a poem.

Krowji is  a collection of artists studios in Redruth, Cornwall.

They had an open day recently and I went along to see what they were up to.

Lots of people painting, some leather work, some glass work, some textile artists.

All of them had taken the step to pursue their interests by investing in a studio.

A couple of the artists were also offering art courses and I plan to go to them-one is using oil paints- a new medium for me, and the other using oil bars- again, something I have not played with yet.

Some of the people in their studio were aloof and made no effort to interact, and some were very communicative...wonder who sold the most?

I guess they will all be in their studios again today, but not interrupted by the general public.

Poetry- Day 6- Dream

Ocean large
Woman stands
At the edge, she looks
Right at you
Will she walk into the water
Will she stay,
Her home behind her
The water in front
Vast expanse
Yet she looks
Looks at you
Will she step into the water
Walk into the sea
Disappear into the stillness
Walk on the seabed
Talk to the hermit crab
Hermit by the sea
Which way will she step?

Poetry writing- day 5 -''Hidden''

#5 Hidden

Today's poem is paired with a dare. And the dare is this - hide a poem somewhere in the world. I could be one of yours or a favorite written by someone else.

Write about the actual or imagined experience of hiding a poem
or alternatively about anything hidden.

Soul caught in words
Capture those cobwebs write
In hidden treasure found by who?
Heart marks.

Cinquain is the form I played with

Cinquain is a short, usually unrhymed poem consisting of twenty-two syllables distributed as 2, 4, 6, 8, 2, in five lines.

It was developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey. (For further information, please scroll down for an article on Cinquain from the SP Quill Quarterly Magazine written by Deborah P Kolodji.)

Another form, sometimes used by school teachers to teach grammar, is as follows:

Line 1: Noun
Line 2: Description of Noun
Line 3: Action
Line 4: Feeling or Effect
Line 5: Synonym of the initial noun.
kind beyond words
they protect and forgive
and make feelings of blissfulness

Poem- day 4- ''I remember''

I remember that trip to Peru
Peru opening its gifts
Gifts of city , sand and sea,
Sea emerging for the sensing,
Sensing the sea over that wall
Wall from the ancients
Ancients meet modern
Modern Peru with Incas in deep
Deep in the waters from the past.
Past spilling over
over the wall
Wall dissolved times met
met with the beating of that drum.

An Ordinary Poem

I have joined a 28 day poetry challenge.
Today we write one about an ordinary thing from our day.

The Book Case.

I felt like going to the library today
today I returned some books
books delight me but on the way
way was interrupted by a surprise
surprise for me at the charity shop
shop invited me to stop
stop and look
look at me and see the potential
potential to organise
organise my books and art stuff
stuff that is strewn around
around and around go the thoughts
thoughts of how to get it home
hone organsied
organised my thoughts to buy
buy the book case
bookcase is now home.

Well- that was fun and quick and easy.
It is in a form I learned about last October during my 1st 28 day poetry challenge.

Co-incidentally I came across a poetry workshop that is happening next month... four hours focus, so I signed up for is with a real live poet, rather than online.
The same people are alos offering a short course on creative writing- on a sense of place...put my name down for that.
It will make a change to just write, rather than facilitate like I do at the creative writing group in the local library

Rose porridge and poetry

I came across a recipe for rose porridge and wondered where to save it.
Her blog had other rose recipes and it seemed so creative that I had the idea to save it here, which means I may well be having this for breakfast sometime soon.

Better put coconut on the shopping list- and honey.

Jenafer Joy is offering a 28 day poetry project and I signed up today and wrote my 1st poem within a few minutes.

I intend one a day for 28 days.

You can join in too...there is a free option

the promise to write a poem a day.
what is a promise but a say I will
what is a poem but a run of words
I say, I write, I illustrate with words of wonder
and hope to script the return of magic

I wonder about saving interesting links  on my blog...articles that inspire me, capture my imagination.

This is one about a woman who now makes a living from PENCILS.

Could not find a way to get her updates- so saving it here.

And here is the article that has more about pencils.

I ordered some pencils from either ebay or amazon, that had an option for your own lettering on each pencil.
I chose I AM Love, I AM Light...and have those words on pink, white and purple pencils

There seem to be gaps where I do not write here.
I came today to post a link to a website that I want to return to again and again.

I am drawn to the

Ilise Greenstein The Sister Chapel section in particular.

and love the Bee Chapel too.

I have just registered for an international card swap via jessica brogans site, and have begun altering a set of playing cards.
It is the 1st time doing anything like this.

My first card, gold acrylic, then added a piece of a musical score looks a bit I hope things improve visually over the next 53 cards,

We all send our set to her, she mixes them up and we get a new set ....

I am also painting with Desiree East and actually put paint to canvas last month...and now I also have an easel

100 Women Artists

100 female painters:~

Georgia O'Keefe
Frieda Kahlo,
 Vanessa Bell
Yayoi Kusama
Gwen John
Beryl Cook

Name 5 Female Artists

I saw an article about naming 5 women artists.
 I could not name 5

I could name 2

Georgia O'Keefe and Frieda Kahlo, then Vanessa Bell came to mind and who is the Japanese polka dot lady...I looked her up ..her name is Yayoi Kusama

That is the grand total of 4

I now have a project- to name 100 women artists by the end of March.
Would you like to join in?

Would you like to add the names of artists you know about- and maybe a link.?

I mean women who are known nationally/internationally, rather then local artists.

I could add Flora Bowley as I know of her work and she is a painter, but will not include her in this list as she is not a known artist.

I may create another list of 100 next month for women whose work we like and who ought to be known

A couple more came to my awareness -  Gwen John- then someone more modern...Beryl Cook!!

Have nearly finished a card for my sister's birthday.

A yellow-orange watercolour wash yesterday, then  designed and painted a mandala inside this morning, orange , gold and yellow, using acrylics and mixing the orange.

45 minutes focus today- am well pleased with that.
It would be a good idea to watch a few youtube clips on lettering so I can add Happy Birthday without spoiling it.

Canvases- what to do now?

Following the creative impulse and I now have some new canvases - 9 in total- in different sizes.
I wonder what to do with them
I wonder what to do next when I have no ideas, no techniques up my sleeve.
Maybe I will cover one with a colour that draws my eye.
Maybe I will let that dry and see what happens next- maybe I could do that to each of the 9  canvases- That feels like too much..a total loss of control...

I have booked a colour mixing course- on Valentine's Day - will art be my new sweetheart- will I fall in love with my inner artist rather than keep judging her before she even picks up a brush?

I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing that I wanted to do.

something going on

Joined an inspirational drawing online course and have been doodling with delight.
It is fun to see what others come up with too.
One day I will get a phone with a camera so I can post mine too.

Have also begun a 12 month course with Mandalas as the focus..and again, have painted 2 already this year.

Wonder where I will store everything if I keep going like this all year?

As I create and listen, I will be lead.
My creativity heals me and others.
I am willing to create.
I am willing to learn to let myself create.
I am willing to be a contribution through my creativity.
I am willing to experience my creative energy.
I am willing to use my creativity.

I joined in with the local art group today after many month's absence.
They were drawing a still life- the idea was boring to me and I had no interest in doing that.
I did have my mandala with me, and gold paint...did an hour on that, and someone admired my work and said maybe I could teach the group something - that might be fun.

After an hour they lost concentration and focus and there was a lot of talking and too much negativity for my taste.

I will go again this Friday and maybe take my doodles and colour them on and do more cutting and sticking into what may become my art journal.
