Afformations for creatives -day 14

we can decree this :~
Image may contain: cloud, sky, ocean and outdoor

and we can afform this:~

Why is all of life  coming to me with ease, joy and glory?

Remember to let your mind search for the answers to your question.
The point of afformations is not to actually cognitively  answer the question you are presenting.

The point of afformations is to begin to use your mind in a generative  new way – to begin focusing on things you may never have focused on before.(I was inspired to post these afformations as a part of Eli Trier's series of  interviews

Day 6-while I was pacing the floor

I do not pace the floor. I used to pace if I had to wait , but these days am so much more mellow.

But I do like some of the prompts, so will happily let the words flow from/through in and around them.

Word prompts:
shadows walk with me'
keeping the pace'
between then and now'
moving to breathe'
pacing happy thoughts '

Cinquain is the form I chose for today

Cinquain is a short, usually unrhymed poem consisting of twenty-two syllables distributed as 2, 4, 6, 8, 2, in five lines. It was developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey.

Another form, sometimes used by school teachers to teach grammar, is as follows:

Line 1: Noun
Line 2: Description of Noun
Line 3: Action
Line 4: Feeling or Effect
Line 5: Synonym of the initial noun.

Existence
Endless possibility
Embraces
Lovingly opening
Awareness.#

I went for the 2nd option

Day 5- poem a day

Finally I undertand     todays prompt.

Here are the words we were given to play with.

Word Bank Prompt
“Oh-h-h. Now I get it.” //“Aha.”
“I see.”   / “But of course.”
“It’s true!”
Delight     Discover
Epiphany    Grow
Learn     Mature
Satisfaction   Triumph
Transform    Vision

My daughter asked for legwarmers for Christmas one year
Year I could not find
Find legwarmers I could not
Not that she would like, wrong texture, wrong colour
Colour too bright , too neon
Neon would not do, synthetic would not do.
Do you have a pattern I asked the group
Group came to my rescue
Rescue with pattern and help
Help, I can't cast on
On and on I went
Went to Lynne for help
Help me you tube..Lynne is away
Away in France and I can't cast off
Off to youtube I go.
Go this way it tells me to follow
Follow I did
Did you know you can go into an altered state
State of no state with each stitch as it disappears
Disappears and trance appears
Appears for the knitter.

Ah- now I understand

4 Sugar Skulls

I created these as a participant on http://journalworkshops.ning.com/  art swap. It was the 1st time I had taken part and I enjoyed making them. We were invited to create 5 sugar skulls using paper. I made 4 and added extra skulls tothe magenta one

Day 4- Between Clouds and Water.

Day 4 and still going.

I wonder what will emerge during the day as I moodle on this.

I noticed clouds shapes of grey last night, with tinges of pink- very dramatic.
As I paint more and poetry more I notice the world around me morphing and revealing more of its secrets and dimensions.

Where is poetry hidden.

The Tibetan woman wishes to write
Write the poem she sees in the clouds
Clouds are deep but government eyes
Eyes denies the pen
Pen we take for granted in the West
West that wastes
Wastes the words, the time, the pen
Pen goes into obsolescence
Obsolescence kills the word, victim to the 5 second text
Text of the ancient, poetry sewn
Sewn into cloth
Cloth covers mouth
Mouth whispers the poem
Poem of the ancient texts.

Day 3- a taste of metal

http://www.octpowrimo.com/2017/10/day-3-taste-of-metal.html

Chalice Well water tastes of iron

But I think it is the blood of the Goddess of Blacksmiths
Seeping through the veins of the earth

To nourish those who are awake
To the transmission of power and nutrients from her heart
To ours.

Poem- day 2 of 31

10 minutes-''we write because we must''

I wonder, do I have this imperative to write. I joined a writing group and wrote 2 short stories a month, but left the group because it did not give the kind of feedback I wanted. There was a man there who thought he was funny, and always made some kind of joke at the end of my reading.

Someone else said my story about a dream did not make sense..I pointed out that it was a story.
Since leaving the group I have not written 2 stories a month.

I joined this 31 day challenge to encourage myself to write daily and this is day 2 and am still playing.

Just remembered, I have joined in with a couple of FB stroy prompts and wrote for 5 minutes each time, and also joined in their story competition.
But the craving for some kind of feedback, preferably postivie, demonstrates that I am not writing for me.
A story motif is in the ethers around my head, but have done nothing with it, and had an idea a few seconds ago that maybe each idea could be a poem in its own right, with actually no need for it to be a story, a novel , a book.

I have also run a writing group for 5 years- we meet monthly in the library and write in short bursts for 10/15/15 minutes then read out to each other.

Sometimes one of the members is negative and I often consider leaving them to run themselves, yet each month I return....

I went to a one hour workshop on Saturday, and made 2 little books- it was such fun to make, and so rewarding, and now, as I type, I realise I can write poetry in them..or even a word per page.

And  I will have a go at making this too

I do enjoy words, single words or small groups- or just a sentence.
I took part in an international art card swap in the summer and joined again...I made 54 cards, and each painted card had a single word on it...did it show me my favourite 52 words ( SOFT showed up twice )
I will post them soon and in return will receive 52 cards (52 arty words) from other people from around the world.

So- I have typed for 10 minutes and noticed I feel soothed by the process...not that I was stressed before- just noticing a change in my energy.

And now to the poem.
At 1st I did not want to write shape poetry, but soon changed my point of view and decided to give it a go,,,,chose a Luna shape.

PEARLS.....

Pearls around my neck feel warm to the touch.
To own a pearl necklace I have wanted so much.
It seemed out of reach-pearls are not for me
Daughter of a grocer- so how could it be?
What do pearls mean- elegance and grace, how do they feel so close to my face?
At last they are mine, tinged with pink...like the colour of dawn not captured by ink
but by the secrets inside the shell, who can tell?
  Are moonbeams collected deep inside,
To realise the pearl within them and within me?
